Throughout my career I’ve worked with so many young people who felt lost, misguided, overwhelmed or just plain uninterested about what options lay ahead of them after they finish school.
I’ve helped these students to feel in control of their choices, given them the motivation to pursue careers that they previously felt were out of reach and most importantly, I gave them the confidence to believe in themselves and make bolder decisions.
A guidance session lasts approximately 1.5 hours and during this time we will discuss your subjects in school, which ones you like or dislike, extra curricular interests and hobbies outside of school and any work experience or employment you have had too.
From all of this I can start to get a feel for your strengths and interests and what career sectors might be suitable for you. From here we can start to explore CAO, PLC, Apprenticeships and other options. This part is really important as there are so many other ways to get where you want to go - it doesn’t have to be the traditional CAO route!
After the session, I will email on resources on anything we discussed and will continue to be available to support you via email or phone if needed after the session.
"Orla's career guidance service has proven a very valuable service for my daughter and for us as her parents. The 1 to 1 call with our daughter, the online videos and the monthly Q&A sessions were particularly informative.
Orla also provided information directly to us regarding specific queries we had. She has been resourceful to us in every aspect of career planning and the college application process."

"I just want to say how helpful Orla was in helping my son in looking at options for college. Orla is so helpful and informative. My son would never have looked outside of Ireland as an option but from talking to Orla and learning more in depth information about what is involved, he has looked at colleges in other countries. I would 100% recommend Orla. Having that expert knowledge helps your child to look at all options and takes the stress out of it all. so, thank you Orla. I gave your number to someone today who will be contacting you about their son."
